In what promises to be an exciting days racing, the 2021 EchoPark Texas Grand Prix is ready to kick off. This will be the first cup series race at the Copa of the Americas, in Austin, TX. It’s going to be a fascinating watch for all involved, though already there are some pre-race favorites who are expected to have a good shot at winning the thing.
To help you understand who might be worth backing for this major race, we recommend you take a look at some of the following racers with winning chances.
Chase Elliott
Chase is the heavy favorite for this race, and he’ll be running with odds of +240. OK, so that odds aren’t exactly breaking any barriers – and it’s easy to see why. Elliott is a seasoned NASCAR veteran with a fantastic record on the road. He’s exactly the kind of racer who has the nous to handle the challenges that this Austin track is going to throw up for the riders.
Without doubt, Elliott is the clear favourite. However, there are some other racers who we think have got a pretty good chance of making a positive impression here.
Joey Lugano
Lugano might be sitting at +1800, but he’s definitely one to watch for this particular match-up. Lugano is becoming a major tip for a lot of events. This comes down to his excellent 750HP package that he’s running with. He’s also been on a good run of form in recent times, becoming a pretty well-respected name within the circuit.
After all, he was runner-up in the Daytona Road Race and came 5th last week in the Dover event. If he can keep himself within touching distance of the leading pack come the end, you’d be crazy to discount Joey.
Denny Hamlin
Though Hamlin is still fairly decent odds at +1000, he’s an ideal choice for this Austin track because it’s so suited to his kind of riding profile. The track fits perfectly with his style as it’s a race that really favours power riders over anything else.
Hamlin is a powerful rider and has become more and more effective in road races in recent years. Add in the fact his car has so much ferocity and we could see him having as good a chance as anyone to go all the way here and win the Austin event.
Martin Truex Jr
While Jr is only impacting your payout minimally with odds of +450, this is still a good driver to back on this event. He’s become a good choice to look into because his fit for the race is so specific. He’s also got a strong 750HP package to power him to victory, and he’s got the experience of using that power to propel himself to victory.
He’s a good choice for these 750HP races because he’s got the mentality to manage the intensity of the race throughout. Not many riders can take the challenge with the same comfort and confident as Truex Jr.
It’s a hard race to predict, but we reckon any of the above four have the best chance of going all the way. It’s going to be a rough and ready event, but we can see this quarter having as good a chance as anyone on the circuit to play hard and get the result in Texas.
