Nets vs Bucks - Game 2
The Brooklyn Nets took on the Milwaukee Bucks in their first matchup between the two and the New Yorkers pulled off a narrow 8-point win, putting the Nets in a great position ahead of Monday’s game.
James Harden picked up another hamstring injury and things are not looking promising in time for Monday’s clash. Harden missed 21 games due to his right hamstring this season but the Nets still managed to finish second in the Eastern Conference.
Game 1 was fast paced, full of action and a close one to call up until the end. Kyrie Irving is always a threat for the Bucks in the three point area but for the Bucks to stand a chance in Game 2, they need to watch Joe Harris and Blake Griffin. Harris scored 19 points while Griffin added 18 points and 14 rebounds to his tally.
The Nets 3 pointer percentage stood at 37.5% in Game 1 and a mere 20% for the Bucks. The Bucks dismal free throw record stood at 57.9% compared to the Nets 88.9%. The hosts will need to pick up their game or risk making an early exit from the conference in the coming days.
As expected, the Nets are the favorites at -130 odds on the moneyline. The Nets had a fantastic season and we cannot see them losing Game 2. The following are the odds and points to cover the spread:
Bucks: +2, -121
Nets: -2, -110
Suns vs Nuggets - Game 1
Both teams have lots to play for. The Phoenix Suns are looking for their first conference finals appearance in over 10 years, while the Denver Nuggets are looking to make back-to-back conference finals for the first time since 1975 and 1976.
The Suns had a pretty hard time making it through after coming from behind in games against the Lakers and if the team brings the same energy and fight as they did in Games 4 & 5 against the Lakers, they’ll be unstoppable.
The Nuggets depend heavily on MVP, Nikola Jokic He dominated the first round of the series averaging 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game, while shooting 56.6% from the field and getting the Blazers' bigs to constantly commit fouls.
Chris Paul’s shoulder might still be troublesome. Even though he played throughout the series with an injured shoulder, he clearly wasn’t himself, scoring an measly average of 9.2 points and 7.7 assists on 38.6% shooting. For the Nuggets, Jamal Murray has been out since April with an anterior cruciate tear and won’t be available till next season. To make matters worse, the Nuggets are also without Will Barton due to a hamstring strain, and PJ Dozier because of an adductor problem.
The Suns are the favorites in their upcoming clash with the Nuggets with odds at -200 and odds of +150 for the Nuggets to win Game 1. The following are the odds and points to cover the spread:
Suns: -4.5, -115
Nuggets: +4.5, -115
