NHL Games Of The Week - Get Involved in This Week Top NHL Betting Opportunities
It was an absolutely insane first week for betting on the NHL. The Pittsburgh Penguins came into Tampa Bay and played spoiler on their banner raising ceremony, beating them 6-2. The Seattle Kraken came out and fought back from a three-goal deficit, but the Golden Knights edged them 4-3. The Kraken did get their first win versus the Predators a few nights later. Some other important notes, the Cup favorited Avalanche are 1-1 on the season after winning their home opener and then losing to the St. Louis Blues, they are currently without captain Gabriel Landeskog and star forward Nathan MacKinnon, but he should be back this week. The Buffalo Sabres are currently 2-0 at the time of writing, with former captain Jack Eichel still sitting on the sidelines.
The games of the week are: The Boston Bruins versus the Philadelphia Flyers on October 20th. The Edmonton Oilers versus the Vegas Golden Knights on October 22nd. Finally, the Vancouver Kanucks are the first team to make a trip to Seattle to play in Climate Pledge Arena on October 23rd. Make sure you get involved in this week's batch of NHL bets with our top NHL Bookmakers which you will find in the list below.
Game 1: Boston Bruins at the Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers are coming out absolutely swinging this year, don’t let the 1-0-1 record confuse you. The offense is alive in Philadelphia. Part of the effort is coming from captain clutch Claude Giroux who has 2 goals in 2 games. Travis Konecny has 3 points in two games, and league minimum contract Keith Yandle is looking like a steal for the Flyers with 3 assists in as many games. The best is coming from third-year left winger Joel Farabee leading the team with 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games. The Bruins have only played one game this season and they won 3-1 against the Dallas Stars. Brad Marchand led the way with 2 goals. Boston is considerably worse this season, losing David Krejci who wanted to go back home and play. The biggest question mark is in goal with Tuukka Rask who did not return to the team or even the NHL, and they have Swayman and Ullmark in net.
NHL Betting Odds:
Puck Line: Boston -1.5(+195) Philadelphia +1.5(-240)
Total O/U: 5.5- Boston -120 and Philadelphia +100
Moneyline: Boston -120 and Philadelphia +100
Game 2: Edmonton Oilers at the Las Vegas Golden Knights
The Edmonton Oilers at the time of writing are currently 2-0 but have two games before they meet the Golden Knights at Rodgers Place. The Golden Knights are currently 1-1 and have one game before meeting the Oilers. No surprise, Connor McDavid is leading the Oilers with 5 points in 2 games and has two easier teams before Saturday. Leon Draisaitl also has 4 assists in 2 games as well. Mike Smith 1.92 GAA does have me worried. The Golden Knights are currently down Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone, and the goaltending is not great in Vegas right now. The 1-1 current record is perfect for them. It might be a rough season for Vegas.
NHL Betting Odds:
Since both of these teams have multiple games before the meeting, there are no betting odds on this game.
The Oilers play the Anaheim Ducks and the Arizona Coyotes before taking on the Knights. The Knights only play the Blues, hot off a win versus the Avalanche.
The Knights are +750 to win the Cup and Edmonton is +1600.
Game 3: Betting Odds: Vancouver Canucks at the Seattle Kraken
This game is shaping up to be the most hyped game of the week. This will be the first NHL game in Seattle in many moons, the NHL is hyping up the fan bases of Seattle and Vancouver as a great Pacific Northwest rivalry, and it is working way better than Arizona versus Vegas did. I like most are so ready for this game. The Kraken are currently 1-2-1 and most recently at the time of writing, lost to the Flyers 6-1 in a rough loss. The team is an expansion team and personally, I think the choice of coach was a little suspect given the guys out there. He is not a great player-manager, and I just personally didn’t like the pick. The big advantage to Seattle here as they get to come home, sleep in their own beds, and play in their barn. Vancouver is coming off a long road trip.
NHL Betting Odds:
Both teams have a few games in between before meeting up in Seattle. The Kraken takes on New Jersey and the Canucks play in Buffalo and Chicago.
The Canucks odds to win the Cup are +5000 and the Kraken are also +5000. I would honestly favor the Kraken to win this one, but you never know with the Canucks!
