Last night started off rough, the Celtics were within 9 points of the scorching hot Brooklyn Nets all but for a few minutes of the 1st quarter. Joe Harris emerged as their 3rd best scorer in the game behind seven 3pointers on 10 attempts while Harden and Durant were their usual selves contributing 20 and 26 points in less than 30 minutes of playing time, it's a good sign for the Nets championship chances that they're able to manage their minutes.
The Nets are favorites at this point and that also makes them a great pick to use in the exclusive BetMGM NBA Playoffs promotion, where you can get Free Bets every time your team advances to the next round.
Next up were the Lakers and Suns and it played it like we hoped, a hard fought game on the defensive end and all the way up until the last minute our bet of -210 points was well under the line. Anthony Davis was doing work with a 34-10-7 game and everything looked great for 47 minutes of play. A rather miraculous ending considering the line, but KCP and Dennis Schroeder fouled Trevor Booker on consecutive 3pointers within the last 14 seconds.
A tough way to lose on our pick, but on to the next one.
In the last game of the evening, the Mavericks once again did a number vs Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. Luka Doncic was phenomenal and poured in 39 points on 16-29 field goal attempts. Is it too early at 22 to call him the best player in the league? Probably, but at this point the Mavericks are continuing to give the Clippers the same kind of trouble we saw last year before losing Kristaps Porzingis. Also, who holds the record for the largest half time lead ever in the NBA? That's right, Dallas vs Clippers in December of last year!
That leaves us at 2-4 W/L in this playoffs endeavor so far, but it could easily have gone the other way by two and we're back on it tonight where we look towards Madison Square Garden in New York.
Hawks vs Knicks Betting Odds
If you're new to betting odds, have a look here for an explanation of the numbers.
Moneyline
New York Knicks -135
Atlanta Hawks +112
Spread
New York Knicks -2
Atlanta Hawks +2
Over/Under
213 total points
Knicks season on the line
Julius Randle did not live up to expectations in game 1 vs the Hawks, finishing with only 15 points on 6-23 shooting. That's well below his season average and Tom Thibodeau will need to make the proper offensive adjustments to get Randle in better positions to score.
We think the Knicks continues to play good defense while performing better offensively and they're likely to pull out a must win game mentality tonight.
Pick: New York Knicks -2
Grizzlies vs Jazz Betting Odds
Moneyline
Utah Jazz -450
Memphis Grizzlies +350
Spread
Utah Jazz -9.5
Memphis Grizzlies +9.5

Grizzlies to stay in it
The Memphis Grizzlies have won eight of their last nine, including the all important game vs the Warriors and Utah in game 1.
The Jazz are likely to win tonight, but the spread at 9.5 we think is too high and we'll gladly take it. The Grizzlies have just gotten better and Ja Morant is looking for his moment, look for them keep up a high intensity style of play.
Pick: Grizzlies +9.5
