Fighting fans from Texas are in for a treat this weekend when the UFC makes it way through Houston for the UFC 262 event! A title is up for grabs and a well known fighter looks to prevent losing his third fight in a row - this is our betting preview of the event!
The main fight is between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliviera who will be battling it out for the lightweight title, but there are several exciting fights planned and the whole card should be well worth watching if you’re looking for some high flying Saturday entertainment with a bet on the side.
If the UFC 262 isn’t available on TV in your area, you can stream the whole event through ESPN and not have to miss out.
We very much like a few of the favorites as well as an upset, here are our UFC 262 picks, they can both be placed as singles or combined as a parlay if you’re looking for a bigger payday. We've taken the fighter prices off of Unibet, but all our partner sites offers UFC odds at similar levels. Using a welcome bonus on bets is never a bad idea and you can find all of our top level offers here.
If you’re new to betting on the UFC, our general MMA guide might be worth a read as well, but let’s get into the picks for Saturday evening:
Charles Oliviera (-135) vs Michael Chandler (+110)
While Oliviera has used his sublime Jiu-Jitsu capabilities to score eight wins a row including his most recent win against Tony Ferguson, Chandler just might prove too strong and too good a striker to not be able to close the distance. He did it in his fight against Dan Hooker and we think Chandler will once again get to work the octagon through both his boxing and terrific wrestling capabilities, leading to a hard fought win.
Pick: Michael Chandler
Antonina Shevchenko (-130) vs Andrea Lee (+105)
Shevchenko is a very good kick boxer and she really got to apply that in her last fight against Ariane Lipski where she scored a very impressive win. We think that she’ll carry it over in this fight against Lee, who’s going to have a hard time getting Shevchenko on the ground. Fighting mostly on their feet, Shevchenko will prove herself too good not to bet on.
Pick: Antonina Shevchenko
Mike Grundy (-125) vs Lando Vannata (+100)
With Vannata you never really know what you’re going to get, while Grundy has shown to have a proven plan for how he looks to win his fights.
Gundy is the favorite and you can expect him to take the fight directly to Vannata, looking to grind him down and wrestle as much as possible. Getting back into a fight without energy is extremely tough and we think this is where Vannata will fall short.
Pick: Mike Grundy
Beneil Dariush (-165) vs Tony Ferguson (+135)
Ferguson has lost his last two fights and it’s the first time ever in his career this has happened. We can’t help but think that he’s going to do everything possible to end this streak, making this a good fight to look for an upset.
Dariush is a heavy hitter and has scored two knockouts in his last four fights, but Ferguson is very experienced and we think there’s a very good chance that he can drag the fight out and get Dariush into a relative unknown spot for him vs someone as good as Ferguson, ultimately taking the fight. At +135 we definitely feel there's upset value.
Pick: Tony Ferguson
