Last Nights’ Action
Yesterday, we had an exciting day of Champions League soccer as Real Madrid faced Liverpool and Manchester City played against Borussia Dortmund. Lots of goals came through from both games, and that’s precisely what we’ve expected. Real Madrid beat Liverpool in a comfortable win, with Vinicius Junior leading the way for Los Blancos by grabbing two goals and an assist, while Mohammed Salah scored on the other end. There were also fireworks in Manchester as the Citizens won their home game against Dortmund in a tight win. Their win was inspired by Kevin De Bruyne and a late-winner from Phil Phoden to seal the victory in the 90th minute. They won by 2-1, while Marco Reus scored for Borussia Dortmund.
What can we expect today?
Many people will choose to watch the replay of last years’ Champions League final over the Chelsea vs. Porto game. And rightly so, we’re not discrediting the game at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, but pure quality lies at the Allianz Arena where FC Bayern will face PSG.
Bayern Munchen vs Paris Saint Germain
This is the big one for today as the champions of Germany host the game for the champions of France. Currently, Bayern is sitting on the top of the Bundesliga table as they have seven more points than 2nd placed Leipzig and are once again running away with the title. At the same time, PSG is behind Lille by 3 points on the Ligue 1 table and is looking to turn things around to reclaim the title they won last year.
The two giants will face each other on the 7th of April at 3 pm (Wednesday), and we’re looking for lots of goals like the two games from yesterday. Bayern had a comfortable tie against Lazio last time out, while PSG showed their class against Barcelona by winning 5-2 on aggregate. The critical thing to note for Bayern is that Robert Lewandowski will be injured for this game, which is a big minus for the German side. However, even with Bayern’s star being out, we’re predicting a tight win for them. PSG’s Neymar and Mbappe will have to produce something extraordinary for them to get something out of this game. The odds for this games’ Bayern Munchen win are -103, +297 for a draw, and +275 for a PSG win.
Porto vs. Chelsea
Chelsea will face Porto at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, with Chelsea being the slight favorites for this game. Ever since Tomas Thucel took over the London side, we’re seeing some real soccer from them as they’ve only lost one game since he took over. They’re currently 5th on the Premier League table as one point separates them from Champions League soccer next year. FC Porto is 2nd on the Liga Nos table as Sporting Lisbon is running away from them by 8 points. Although, FC Porto will focus all of their strengths in Champions League soccer as they’ve been quite successful for now. They were 2nd in the group with Man City and beat Juventus in a thrilling win that went to Extra Time. Chelsea had a comfortable tie against Atletico Madrid, where they outclassed their opponents by 3-0. That’s where we started seeing glimpses of Tomas Thucel’s genius.
In this game, the odds for Porto are +442, a draw would be +254, and -128 for a Chelsea win. Even though Chelsea are slight favorites, this game could go either way, and that’s why we’re not suggesting an outcome bet. Instead, we believe that the best bet would be Under 2.25 goals. The odds for this happening are -125.
